Following a critical AC unit failure, STAR London needed a replacement solution quickly. The upgrade had to be carried out in a live data centre environment with legacy infrastructure, without downtime, customer impact, or disruption to the wider Telehouse facility.

STULZ delivered a water-cooled indirect DX cooling system with integrated Free Cooling and mixed-mode cooling. This solution was selected to provide tighter humidity control, reduced refrigerant exposure, and greater flexibility on the external side through the use of dry coolers.

The project-specific design also helped address the site’s operational requirements, zone-control needs, and resilience targets.

The result is a modernised cooling installation that supports lower power consumption while maintaining the right environment for critical IT equipment.

The project was completed in a live, highly connected environment, allowing STAR London to improve efficiency and resilience without compromising continuity.

CyberAir 3PRO

The STULZ GE system offers a flexible solution for data centre applications where factors such as legacy infrastructure, humidity control, resilience, weight, noise, footprint, and power all need to be carefully balanced. It also creates opportunities to further improve operating costs in the future, without major disruption to the room.
