3.  How we Collect Your Personal Data

We may collect data about you by you providing the data directly to us (for example by filling in forms on our site or by sending us emails). We may automatically collect certain data from you as you use our website by using cookies and similar technologies. Please see our cookie policy for more details about this.

We utilize the web analytics service Google Analytics, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland ("Google"), to measure reach, analyse user behaviour, and enhance our website. Activation of Google Analytics is contingent upon your consent in the "Analysis" category within the "Privacy settings." Any processing of data by Google Analytics is conducted under the legal basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) sentence 1 of the Telecommunications Telemedia Data Protection Act.

Google Analytics utilizes cookies to analyse user behaviour during website visits. Information collected may include session initiation, initial website visit, pages visited, interaction with the website (clicks/scrolling), internal search queries, clicks on external links, video views, file downloads, ad interactions, and language settings. Additionally, Google Analytics gathers technical communication data as detailed in Section 4.1, including your IP address.

To aid Google Analytics evaluation, UTM parameters are appended to individual page URLs on our website. These parameters denote the referring source of website visits, the advertising medium employed (e.g., ads on other websites, email newsletters, social media), and the nature/content of advertising campaigns.

Data generated from your website usage is typically transmitted to and processed on a U.S. server. However, IP anonymization on our website truncates your IP address within EU member states or other signatories of the European Economic Area (EEA) Agreement before transmission. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the U.S., where it will then be truncated. Google utilizes this information to evaluate website usage, compile activity reports, and provide related services, potentially resulting in the creation of pseudonymous user profiles.

You retain the option to withdraw your consent at any time via the "Privacy settings." Furthermore, you can prevent cookie-based data processing by Google Analytics through the following means:

  • Adjusting your browser settings to prevent Google's cookies from being stored. Please note that this may limit the functionality of our website.
  • Utilizing Google's browser plug-in available at http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de to prevent Google from receiving and processing data generated by cookies, including your IP address.
  • We also utilize the Google Signals function in conjunction with Google Analytics on our website, alongside IP anonymization. Google Signals provides us with statistics devoid of personal data. If you've enabled ads personalization in your Google account and your devices are linked, Google may analyze your usage across devices and generate reports. You can modify ads personalization settings in your Google Account to prevent cross-device tracking via https://support.google.com/My-Ad-Center-Help/answer/12155764?hl=de&visit_id=638301905539112235-1700265536&rd=1.

For further details regarding Google Analytics' terms of use, please visit https://marketingplatform.google.com/about/analytics/terms/de/. Information about Google Signals can be found at https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/7532985, and for additional data protection information, visit https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites?hl=de. Google's comprehensive data protection policy is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

We also may receive data from advertising networks such as Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter and other Social Media platforms, providers of technical, payment and delivery services, such as data brokers or aggregators.

We may also receive data from publicly availably sources such as Companies House and the Electoral Register based inside the EU.

We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access your personal data (or to exercise any of your other rights). We may also contact you to ask you for further information in relation to your request to speed up our response.
