Retrofitting EC fans into an existing legacy AHU would result in up to 25 per cent improvement in energy efficiency. However, the full benefit of adding EC fans is derived only from digitizing the legacy AHU. Full upgradation of an existing AHU to an advanced BMS-compatible AHU with programmable controller and CO2 sensors along with EC fans reduces energy usage up to 60 percent.
